ONE YEAR OLD!!

It's been ages since our last post- Lincoln is a new man!

Needless to say- I have limited time so I'll be just dumping photos in from the last several months in no particular order...

He is hysterical- How does a one year old learn to be funny?!

Here's a list of what's happening:

• SORT of took two steps yesterday!
• Standing on his own for long periods
• Signing these words: light, bird, eat, and blanket/sleep, nurse, bus, hot (some of these look pretty much the same but we get the gist)
• Says dada, mom, and bu (bus) and a bunch of other half words
• Flapping his limbs in excitement each time he sees a bus or truck (about 30-40 times a day)
• Loves riding the city bus
• Walking behind his truck
• Picking up toys and putting them on truck for a ride
• Riding on a push car (uses his feet to move while sitting in it)
• Obsessed with the stove and cooking in general
• Makes ssss sound for cooking, car sound, duck sound, cat sound
• Loves to play in water
• Loves the outdoors
• Has us read about 300 books a day
• Beginning to use a fork
• Eats a lot- broccoli, zucchini, carrots, sweet potatoes, beef, curry, chili, waffles- some of his faves
• Sleeps "well" and lets us know when it's nap time
• Has a sense of humor (thinks its funny when my butt crack shows and then zerberts my tush)
• Opens doors
• I could keep going.... but I'll try to update soon instead!

Daddy and drummer boy

It has been a wonderful and busy month of firsts and fun for Lincoln. Here's a partial list of what he's up to:

• Fast crawling
• Pulling up on furniture and legs
• Opening and closing (repeatedly) doors, drawers and cabinets (nothing is left unopened)
• Drinking from sippy cup
• LOVES water in any form (bath most of all, faucet, fridge door spout, in washcloth)
• Popping 8!! teeth
• Loves to eat food on his own (blueberries, broccoli, turkey, beans with curry, toast, bananas, mangos, peas, noodles, cheese, spinach, potatoes, etc)
• Hates to be fed with spoon (except yogurt)
• Banging two toys together
• Clapping
• Finding hidden toys
• Rolling his trucks
• Handing us food and toys (but never really willing to part with them)
• LOVES to push buttons and turn knobs (stereo, microwave, washing machine/dryer- anything except his toys)
• Loves the dishwasher and tries to climb in when open
• Climbs stairs
• Points at everything
• Smiles at everyone
• Laughs a TON
• Loves hide and seek/peek a boo
• Loves to be chased by his daddy
• Sleeps well (KNOCK ON WOOD) except for a short afternoon nap
• Loves reading books ("Monster at the end of this book", "freight train", "very hungry caterpillar", "Big red barn", "moo. baa, la la la" and the "going to bed book" are some of his faves this month)
• LOVES watching and listening to his daddy play guitar
• Loves the swings, slide and watching other kids at the park
• Loves other kids, dogs and cats (kicks legs simultaneously and flaps his wings with excitement)
• Loves going outside
• Gives us kisses
• Hmmmm I know I'm forgetting a bunch.....

Where to Begin??

6 Months!

Can You believe how fast he's growing? 

He went from learning to sit (in the brown and gray stripes) to sitting pretty well (in the brown and blue stripes) to sitting all by himself 100% of the time (in the brown stripe pants) in just a short month and a half! 

Ok...I'm reverting to list format...

Things Lincoln loves:

• Chewing on toys (b/c he just TODAY popped his 1st tooth!!)
  
• Playing outside
• Skooching backwards 
• Attempting to stay up on hands and knees (but much to his dismay wanting to move forward results in moving backwards)
• Playing DJ with his radio
• Reading books ("Are You My Mother", "Goodnight Moon" and "Bubbles Bubbles" are his current favs)
• Sitting and watching people talk
• Eating bananas
• Making new blah blah blah sounds
• Throwing toys on the ground
• Sitting near coffee table and pulling all his toys to the ground
• Playing with anything that is NOT a toy especially if it is black and shiny or metallic of any kind 
• Dive bombing out of our arms in the direction he would like to travel
• Taking walks in newly facing forward stroller
• Swinging
• SLEEPING FOR UP TO 11 HOUR STRETCHES!!!!!!!
• LETTING HIS PARENTS SLEEP!!!
• Having a babysitter and not even knowing they are here (B/C HE IS SLEEPING THE WHOLE TIME!)
• Traveling the country via car and plane to see all of our wonderful friends and family!
